The Ranch for Boys serves 50 boys ages 13 to 18 at our residential boarding school located on 30 acres in working ranches and orchards. Over our program, we focus on character, integrity, hard work, and respect. We create a culture of positive peer pressure. We give boys responsibility for work projects and special events on campus to keep them engaged in what is their home away from home. We want to see teens grow in their faith in Christ, and we offer worship, chapel services, bible studies, discipleship, retreats and mission trip opportunities to support that growth. Residents also challenge and support each other in their faith. Would any of that happen in a military school or boot camp? That’s unlikely.

The highlight of the program is an incredible wilderness experience in the mountains of North Carolina during the last month of the boys’ time at the ranch. Whitewater rafting, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, camping, and other adventures demonstrate that life can be at the same time adventuresome and constructive.
While we conduct individual, group, and family counseling in traditional settings, we find that most life-changing experiences tend to happen during outdoor activities and during ordinary situations. Counseling takes place frequently during the day, in all settings, through conversations with mentors during chores or activities. We put a strong emphasis on mentorship, providing the boys with positive male role models during their residence with us.
