The Ranch for Boys serves 50 boys ages 13 to 18 at our residential boarding school located on 30 acres in ranch and orchard country. In the course of our program, we work to develop character, integrity, hard work, and respect. We promote an environment of positive peer pressure. We give boys responsibility for work projects and special events on campus to keep them engaged in what is their home away from home. We want to see young men mature in their faith in Christ, and we provide worship, chapel services, bible studies, discipleship, retreats and mission trip opportunities toward that end. Residents also stretch and encourage each other in their faith. Would any of that happen in a military school or boot camp? That’s unlikely.

The culmination of the program is an incredible wilderness experience in the mountains of North Carolina during the last month of the boys’ time at the ranch. Whitewater rafting, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, camping, and other adventures illustrate that life can be simultaneously adventuresome and constructive.
While we conduct individual, group, and family counseling in traditional settings, we know that most life-changing encounters tend to occur during outdoor activities and in the course of daily life. Counseling takes place frequently during the day, in all settings, through conversations with mentors during chores or recreation. We place a strong emphasis on mentorship, providing the boys with positive male role models during their enrollment with us.
