The Ranch for Boys enrolls 50 teenage boys at our residential boarding school on a 30-acre parcel surrounded by working ranches and orchards. During our program, we work to develop character, integrity, hard work, and respect. We promote an environment of positive peer pressure. We give boys ownership in work projects and chapel services on campus to keep them engaged in what is their home away from home. We desire to see young men mature in their faith in Christ, and we provide worship, chapel services, bible studies, discipleship, retreats and mission trip opportunities to support that growth. Boys also stretch and support each other in their faith. Would any of that happen in a military school or boot camp? That’s unlikely.

The highlight of the program is an incredible wilderness experience in the mountains of North Carolina during the last month of the boys’ stay. Whitewater rafting, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, camping, and other adventures illustrate that life can be at the same time adventuresome and constructive.
While we hold individual, group, and family counseling in traditional settings, we find that most life-changing conversations tend to happen during outdoor activities and during ordinary situations. Counseling takes place frequently during the day, in all settings, through conversations with mentors during work or activities. We put a strong emphasis on mentorship, providing the boys with positive male role models during their enrollment with us.
